Man, the kids were pumped this year about Christmas. Brecken loved opening his “25 days of Christmas” gifts from Auntie and we got him all excited about Santa coming. He helped drop the “reindeer food” out front so they could find our house and they went to bed. They both snuggled in Brecken’s room Christmas Eve and fell asleep (while sugar plums danced in their heads).
Christmas morning came and the cause of our excitement was not what any one of us could have expected. Jason and I were tucked in and Jason had not been feeling well while battling an awful cold. Aubrey came in and informed us that Brecken leaked through his diaper (as he sometimes does) and there was pee on her brand new panda and that she was sad. We told her we would fix him all up good as new and to put him in the bathroom. Then she quietly went to lie back down. She came back seconds later to inform us that Breckens entire bed was soaked and that she put her hand in his pee but when she went to wash her hands, she said it was brown. Then she came looking for her panda and noticed he was also covered in brown. I said, “oh boy. I’ll be right in.” So I rolled out of bed and into Brecken room to find the poor boy standing on his bed covered in brown from his chest to his knees.
Poor Brecken had been battling a little stomach bug and had been having some bathroom issues for a couple days prior and he woke up on Christmas Day, well, covered in, for a lack of a better word, poop.
We started the morning with baths for everyone and some new, clean pajamas.
Now, on to the celebration. The kids loved their day! We ate, laid around, and played with our new toys!! Patch the elf stayed another night and decorated the hallway. Aubrey got her magical bell (Santa must have run out of time in attempts to make her stuffed bee) which she ADORED. Brecken got a train table, which he immediately started playing with.
Grandma Kathy came over for more presents after breakfast then we ate lunch.
We love this time of year with our Family! What a great day!!
