With Christmas almost here, Patch was determined to leave us with a lasting impression with all his tricks.
Day 19 – An elf’s bath time:
Patch decided he needed a bath after all the mischief he had been causing around the house. He must have thought it was time for some relaxation this time around. After all, I’m sure he has been helping Santa in the workshop every night trying to finish up all the loose ends. Aubrey loved this one. She was so excited to show us. Brecken also liked the idea, so much that he decided he would help Patch with his bubbles. He ended up knocking the bowl off the counter, falling on top of the broken glass and sliced his arm open. Luckily, the cut wasn’t too deep but poor guy had to go to the ER. We avoided stitches and got some steri-strips and glue instead. He was very tough. You can see photos here. Brecken will have a lating impression of Patch for the remainder of his life in the form of a nice scar….
Day 20 – Power outage:
It started snowing and blowing the afternoon of 12/20 and our power went out for several hours that night. We lived by candlelight and snuggled up under some blankets until it was time for bed. When we woke up in the morning, we found Patch holding a flashlight! Such a clever little guy!
Day 21 – Patchcicle.
We love chocolate chips around here and we keep them in the freezer so they are extra good! When we woke up, we couldn’t find Patch but found a trail of chips to the freezer instead. When we got it open we found Patch asleep in the bag of chocolate chips nearly frozen into a popcicle himself!
Day 22 – Messages to Aubrey:
We spent the night at Aunt Kari’s on Saturday night so we could celebrate Christmas up there. We we got home, we found Patch sending text message to Aubrey using her phone. Aubrey was so excited because we gave Henry an iGuy for Christmas and she asked Patch to tell Santa she wants one before we left. She was upset that he didn’t bring her one, but he let her know that he talked to Santa at least. She loved getting messages from Patch throughout the day!
Day 22 – Kissing Booth:
Aubrey couldn’t resist!
Christmas Eve – Time to say goodbye. Aubrey knows she isn’t supposed to touch Patch, for he will lose his magic, but she asked so sweetly if she could give him a hug because she was going to miss him soooo much. How could we resist?!!
Aubrey tucked Patch safely in her stocking so Santa would find him tonight. Patch would ride back with Santa on his sleigh and help him in his workshop until next December when he would visit again! Goodbye Patch – we will miss you!
