I always debate on doing these sessions, as I worry so much about the weather, the trees, the busy time of year. However, I have had so many requests, I decided to open up a day for them. My calendar only really allowed for one evening of these, so we are limited on session openings, so don’t delay in booking. I am really looking forward to warmer weather and the smell of fresh flowers!

This was one amazing birth story. Poor mom was told at a checkup 3 weeks before baby was due to drive herself to the hospital and get admitted for high blood pressure. They would be inducing that night.
Off she went, no bag, no plan…..just her and her baby.
For the next 2 days, she sat and waited while induction took it’s own sweet time. I was texting back and forth the day before the baby arrived and it really didn’t seem promising for arrival that day either.
On Friday 11/17 around 4PM, Dad had texted to update me that she was 4CM dilated. I was waiting to leave until she was about a 6. Next text I get is at 11:00PM —- she is a 10! They both fell asleep and when the RN came in to check her, she was complete. Hang on, Mama!! I’m not missing this birth!!
I hopped in the car driving way too fast to Champaign and……I made it!!! Mom said, “I was really trying hard to wait for you before I started pushing.” Good thing!! This trooper of a FIRST TIME mom, pushed only for 25 minutes.
Logan was born a little after midnight on Saturday 11/18. Same birthday as my nephew! He was perfect from head to toe and already loved so much!
Thank you for the opportunity to capture such an amazing experience.

Elyse’s momma and I spent several years working together as nurses before Jamie started having babies. Actually, we have known each other for quite a few years. We go back to the “Yellow Mustang Days” as Jamie and I would call them…..
Now, it’s pampers and mini vans and we wouldn’t change it for the world.
So, let’s talk about Elyse. Isn’t she just gorgeous?! And her big brother is CLEARLY in love with her! How sweet is he?!
Elyse is one special baby. She is what they call a Rainbow Baby. It is a term used to describe a baby that is born following a miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death or infant loss.
“In the real world, a beautiful and bright rainbow follows a storm and gives hope. The rainbow is more appreciated having just experienced the storm in comparison.
The storm (pregnancy loss) has already happened and nothing can change that experience. Storm-clouds might still be overhead as the family continue to cope with the loss, but something colorful and bright has emerged from the darkness and misery.”
Not only has Jamie’s family lost a baby, but they have weathered multiple other tragedies that left them feeling helpless and lost.
Through it all, their faith never wavered and God prevailed as He always promises to.
They, indeed, have braved quite some storms in their time as a family, but God gave them their long awaited rainbow.
So happy for you all!
