2017 had the most gorgeous fall I can remember. Thank you for choosing me to capture it with your family.
So I am trying something a little new for my blog posts. I’m not sure how long it will last, if it will be consistent, or it will even work effectively.
I often get behind on blogging/posting to my website because of the amount of time it takes to describe the sheer awesomeness that each family and session deserves. I love each and every family/person that I have the privilege of capturing, but the journalistic side of my job I often find difficult. So, in order to get you WAY more cuteness and a higher volume of eye candy, I have decided I’m only going to include photos for each of my blog posts from here on out (at least as a trial).
I mean, seriously, you all surely don’t come to a photographer’s website to READ, do you?!
So, without further ado, this is 18 month old Charlotte and her amazing family….
You know those people that come into your lives that you immediately feel like you’ve known forever? That was this family of 4. They arrived at their session, their kiddos dressed in their PJ’s (to avoid winkled carseat clothing), tousled hair and grimaces on their faces. They had fallen asleep in the car on the way to their session. Normally, any other day, this would not be a time they would ever fall asleep.
However, while towing kids, Mom had the biggest, sweetest smile on her face. She told me what happened and I said, “Absolutely no worries at all! We got this!”
Their oldest was having nothing to do with wanting to change, wanting to take photos, and of course this strange location with some strange new lady.
Between Mom, Dad and me, we managed to get them changed, snuggled and eventually, we got them both on board with photos — I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I need to grab from on occasion. Luckily for all of us, they worked like a charm!
This family. So much love. I’m telling you. I would have been freaking out if my kids came to their session grumpy and tired, but not these two. They just loved on them, were so patient and, honestly those are my favorite photos of all time. Because that is what being a parent is — being flexible, being loving, being patient. Those kids are surrounded by the some of the most loving people!
Good luck trying to narrow these down – I couldn’t even do it for your blog post.
It’s that time of year again to start thinking about jeans, sweaters, apple cider and fall pictures.

I had the pleasure of photographing an old friend’s newest addition….her second baby girl. These little cuties are adorable, just like their mama! Vallie’s big sister, Ivy, was very proud to show off her little sister and, despite that she really wasn’t sure about being in the pictures, she did AMAZING. I mean, look at the pictures we got of them together!! I know that Mom and Dad will cherish these forever!
Thank you again for the opportunity to capture our sweet little girls!
Check out Vallie’s Newborn Session….
Olivia arrived to my studio ready for her first images in this big world. She was born with a full head of hair, long eyelashes with a curl, and the best little lips. She was such a good little model for me. I absolutely loved her session colors — turquoise, creams and yellows. She looked amazing in all of them! Thank you for choosing me as your newborn photographer. It means more to me than any of you will ever know!
World, meet Olivia….
This little family is so tough. I had the pleasure of meeting them when they booked me for Owen’s 3 year session this spring. Momma was expecting and asked me to document her second baby….a girl.
We planned on maternity photos and the she got put on bedrest….But we made the best of it and did them on the grounds at the hospital. It was actually pretty awesome. You can view that session here.
She ended up induced the following day, so good thing we planned it out right!
When Addison was born, Mom and Dad knew she was going to be spending some time at the hospital and were waiting to hear of discharge. Patiently waiting, they determined they were keeping her until sometime mid summer.
So, I hopped in my car again and documented their life….as it is. It’s gorgeous. They are handling things like champs, smiles on their faces, being strong for each other, for Owen, and for Addison. There is seriously nothing but love in this family.
They are so supportive of each other, encouraging and patient. I have spent quite some time with this family and can just feel their dedication to one another.
So thankful to be a part of such memories, whether they are tough at times or not, they will be so glad to have this to treasure!
Newborn Photography is one of my favorite things in the entire world, after of course church and my family. Do you want to know WHY newborn photography is a huge passion of mine? I could go on forever, but to sum it up in a few words this is why:
I mean, who doesn’t love baby toes? I only take about 40 photos during each newborn session of just their toes….I can’t help it.
New life. What is more amazing than that? These sweet little beings just so perfectly made. Every single one of them.
Innocence. The are so pure, so reliant and trusting on us to take care of them. They need one thing….love. Well, and food, but that is love too, right?!
