This session was so fun to plan and this family was amazing. The happiest little girl ever showed up for her session. Mom wanted a gypsy theme and a Teepee for her little girl. I finally had a reason to make the teepee I have been talking about for months. I love how it turned out. I love how all the wildflowers were starting to bloom for the summer as well – a perfect setting for this gorgeous family.
Mom’s dress is from the amazing Apricot Lane in Peoria. They have the BEST clothes!
Carter’s 1 year session was nothing less than perfect. Great night. Gorgeous weather and an even sweeter family! Carter showed off his toothless grin while his older brother and I cracked jokes. This family’s images are some of my favorite to date. You know why? Because they show you what raising little kids is all about – I love that they are wrestling their oldest one while their youngest looks around in awe and how they look at each other. I love that they are captured playing with the kids and laughing. I hope they cherish these forever. Someday sooner than you wish, your little one will no longer give you those open mouth kisses or think your jokes are funny. They won’t reach their arms up to you for you to pick them up. It’s so important to savor these moments because they are often gone in a blink of an eye. Capture them — I will help you do that!
His baby blue eyes are to die for. He is so adorable!!
Brody’s 1 year session and cake smash went well – he wasn’t SUPER excited about his cake, but he made a small dent at least for photos!
Nora’s big, intense and gorgeous eyes has brought a lot of life to my studio over the past year. She did not disappoint during her 1 year session. Isn’t she gorgeous?!
Her 1 year session was filled with pinks, turquoise and creams. I will miss getting to see this sweet girl every 3 months, but I have loved every second of watching her grow!
Noah’s 1 year session and cake smash couldn’t have been better. He sure showed off for the camera, smiling, laughing and eating tons of cake!
I am sad to say this was Noah’s last Grow with Me Session. I am looking forward to seeing him continue to grow over the years.
Behr is such a squishy, happy baby. I was happy to have him back to my studio for his 1 year cake smash session that his sweet mom totally themed out to Where the Wild Things Are. She had several things made for his session and I was super stoked to make a teepee for him as well. If you’re wanting to make a teepee, I followed this blog here for the instructions. I substituted the round doll rods.
All in all, the session was a success.
You can tell this momma did some planning for her little one’s first birthday photo session. His theme was Where the Wild Things Are. I loved his crown, which she purchased off Etsy. She made the banners for the background and the cake. Jackson showed his wild side during his session and gave some awesome expressions for us. And he definitely destroyed his cake!!
I absolutely loved this outdoor family session with Brianna and her family. Brianna is one of my milestone babies that graduated this year and she went out with an awesome session in Champaign! I loved her cake smash with her custom cake!!

Carter’s 1 year photo session in Champaign couldn’t have been more perfect. This was the ending to his Grow with Me Milestone baby plan – it has been amazing watching him grow up and develop his little personality. We did a cake smash for him too, although he didn’t enjoy be dirty, so the cake didn’t get much smashing. Happy Birthday, little buddy!
I have been long time friends with this AMAZING family since college and now they have 3 beautiful children (mama was still pregnant when these photos were taken). I have been getting to see them almost every 3 months for 4 years – and I couldn’t be more thankful that they choose me to photograph their gorgeous children. It’s simply a blessing. I know these two are going to be an amazing big brother and sister!
Rogan’s Cake Smash (he kindly shared with his sister Avery) was a hit – the kid killed that cake like it was his job! Avery, oh my, I love her! She stepped out of the car, ran to me and gave me a GIANT hug and asked if we were ready for pictures!! God love her!
Nevertheless, here they are!
Warning: Their hair will make you jealous.
I love this family and I love even more the personality that has emerged from their tiny human Adelyn. She has the best expressions and the biggest personality. She is working on walking (although since her session, I’m sure she has now mastered it) and she didn’t want to sit still or bed held for more than a few seconds. This little girl was on the move!! She graduated my Milestone Baby Package today – as always, it’s bittersweet.
We ended her Milestone Baby Package with a bang of gorgeous weather, a beautiful location and a big cake smash!
