So I am trying something a little new for my blog posts. I’m not sure how long it will last, if it will be consistent, or it will even work effectively.
I often get behind on blogging/posting to my website because of the amount of time it takes to describe the sheer awesomeness that each family and session deserves. I love each and every family/person that I have the privilege of capturing, but the journalistic side of my job I often find difficult. So, in order to get you WAY more cuteness and a higher volume of eye candy, I have decided I’m only going to include photos for each of my blog posts from here on out (at least as a trial).
I mean, seriously, you all surely don’t come to a photographer’s website to READ, do you?!
So, without further ado, this is 18 month old Charlotte and her amazing family….
I love having the privilege of being invited into people’s homes for photographs, especially when they are celebrating the welcoming of a new baby! This family is welcoming Leo. He is the newest member of their family and was 15 days fresh when we took these photos. His big sister Avery, a HUGE Star Wars fan, was very happy about showing him off! She loves to snuggle him and I’m sure is very much looking forward to having lightsaber battles with him as soon as he can hold one!
My favorite thing about newborn lifestyle sessions is that I get to see your life in real time. Sure, we do some posed pictures and I try to keep everyone together, but I also get to capture real life as it happens. So many of these images have been captured with only a little bit of direction. Avery reading a book on the couch — totally her idea! Their sweet little kitty came out to greet me (and I’m told she is REALLY shy). I guess Avery is the only one that can get as closer to her as she does and can give kisses. Bam! Captured that! I know they will cherish these for a lifetime!
Since Leo is adopted and they got the call last minute about his arrival, his nursery is still in the works of being completed. However, I love the simple touches they have on it already and I’m glad we were able to use it for some of the photos.
Thank you again for the opportunity to photograph your gorgeous growing family!
I love meeting new families. This one was no different. Colette arrived for newborn photos with her big brother John and we had an awesome morning!
Colette and I started her session outside in the flowers — LOVE getting to take outdoor newborn pictures if weather allows! She smiled a lot out there so she must have loved it too!
She gave me lots of smiles throughout her session indoors too!
Sibling shots are my favorite and I work really hard to achieve them for my clients.
Sometimes we wait it out, sometimes we have treats or gifts for participating, and sometimes we get some silly photos, which I know parents will look back on and love just as much as the more posed ones.
John wasn’t quite sure about getting in the photos with his new sister, but of course with some cookies, he obliged! I hope you cherish these for a lifetime!
Thank you for choosing me as your photographer!
Oh Lucca was full of smiles and tons of chubbiness for his session with me. I can’t believe how much he has changed. The amount they grow in just only 3 months never ceases to amaze me. They start to emerge with their little personalities and curiosity. I love that I get to be a part of capturing these sweet milestones for so many wonderful people. Lucca got tired at the end of this session, I took advantage and we took some super sweet sleeping photos. Those little curled up hands, long lashes and that little peaceful face. I hope they cherish these for a lifetime!
Elyse’s momma and I spent several years working together as nurses before Jamie started having babies. Actually, we have known each other for quite a few years. We go back to the “Yellow Mustang Days” as Jamie and I would call them…..
Now, it’s pampers and mini vans and we wouldn’t change it for the world.
So, let’s talk about Elyse. Isn’t she just gorgeous?! And her big brother is CLEARLY in love with her! How sweet is he?!
Elyse is one special baby. She is what they call a Rainbow Baby. It is a term used to describe a baby that is born following a miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death or infant loss.
“In the real world, a beautiful and bright rainbow follows a storm and gives hope. The rainbow is more appreciated having just experienced the storm in comparison.
The storm (pregnancy loss) has already happened and nothing can change that experience. Storm-clouds might still be overhead as the family continue to cope with the loss, but something colorful and bright has emerged from the darkness and misery.”
Not only has Jamie’s family lost a baby, but they have weathered multiple other tragedies that left them feeling helpless and lost.
Through it all, their faith never wavered and God prevailed as He always promises to.
They, indeed, have braved quite some storms in their time as a family, but God gave them their long awaited rainbow.
So happy for you all!
Newborn Photography is one of my favorite things in the entire world, after of course church and my family. Do you want to know WHY newborn photography is a huge passion of mine? I could go on forever, but to sum it up in a few words this is why:
I mean, who doesn’t love baby toes? I only take about 40 photos during each newborn session of just their toes….I can’t help it.
New life. What is more amazing than that? These sweet little beings just so perfectly made. Every single one of them.
Innocence. The are so pure, so reliant and trusting on us to take care of them. They need one thing….love. Well, and food, but that is love too, right?!
